Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time School Staff Nurse to provide health services to students in a Kentucky school setting. A BSN and RN licensure with BLS are required. Experience in pediatrics and school healthcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Experience in pediatric nursing preferred.
• Experience in healthcare at least 1 year.
• Proficiency with MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Provide school health services as directed by department and contracts.
• Deliver clinical care including routine, special needs, and emergency first aid.
• Maintain student health records and document services performed.
• Participate in departmental and hospital education efforts.
• Communicate effectively with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel.
• Demonstrate care for physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of students.
• Follow department/school/state/federal policies and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as required.
