Job summary

Tri-County Special Education is seeking a Teacher-School Health Aide to support teachers in delivering structured educational activities and health-related student care. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, following behavior plans, and ensuring a safe classroom environment.

Under supervision, you will participate in training, maintain records, and collaborate with staff to provide individualized support according to student needs and IEPs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sixty hours of college level credit; associates preferred.
• Pass Work Keys or ETS Para-Pro Assessment required.
• Preference for experience working with disability category of hire.
• Must obtain licensure and register credentials with the Illinois State Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher to provide an organized and effective learning environment.
• Redirect students per behavior intervention plan as needed.
• Assist with activities of daily living as necessitated by student medical conditions.
• Maintain daily records and provide feedback on student performance.
• Observe and support health and safety of students and assist with health-related tasks.
