Job summary

Tri County Special Education Coop is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional to assist in supervising, caring for, and instructing students with varied learning needs under the supervision of licensed staff. This role may operate in either special education or general education settings.

Responsibilities include following the supervisor's routine, providing basic supports to students, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding rules and safety policies within a supportive, inclusive school

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Health and inoculation certificate on file at the Central Office.
• Meets Highly Qualified status: Associate's Degree, 48 college credits, or Master Teacher Test.
• Desire to continue career improvement.

Responsibilities

• Adhere and support the philosophy, mission and policies of Tri-County and the school district.
• Follows daily routine given by supervisor.
• Provides basic supports to students in and/or outside of the classroom setting.
• Demonstrates acceptance of students at their performance level.
• Maintains student confidentiality.
• Demonstrates appropriate boundaries with students, staff, and parents.
• Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the teacher/therapist for participation.
• Implement classroom management plans and individual behavior plans consistently.
