Job summary

Tri-County Special Education is seeking a Teacher-School Health Aide to support teachers and students with health-related needs in a structured classroom setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 60 college credits, and licensure with the Illinois State Board of Education, plus the ability to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis. Training and alignment with student IEPs are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sixty hours of college credit; preference for Associates degree.
• Degree or higher education and/or
• Pass Work Keys or ETS Para-Pro Assessment.
• Preference for experience with disability category of hire.
• Licensure and registration with Illinois State Board of Education required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher to provide an organized learning environment per IEP.
• Carry out routine duties: supervision, attendance, materials, and cleanup.
• Observe health and safety needs; assist with health related services.
• Assist in motor/communication development and CPI safety procedures.
• Attend screenings and support field trips as needed.
