Job summary

Gadsden Independent School District (NM) is seeking a Health Aide to assist the registered nurse in providing health services for students and staff. You will also participate in health screenings and support basic emergency care as needed.

The role involves maintaining health records, following DOH and GISD guidelines, and collaborating with nurses and staff to ensure a safe school environment. CPR and First Aid certifications are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• General reading and comprehension of instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the registered nurse in providing health services to students and staff.
• Perform basic first aid and emergency care as directed.
• Assist with student health screenings (hearing, vision, height, weight).
• Assist with medication administration per GISD and DOH guidelines.
• Maintain health records accurately and confidentially.
• Promote a clean, healthful environment in the school health office.
• Collaborate with nurses and the health services team and participate in staff trainings.
