Maschio's Food Services, Inc. is seeking a reliable Food Service Worker to join our school cafeteria team in Vernon, NJ. This role supports student dining through food preparation, serving, and maintaining sanitation.

Monday through Friday, day shift with summers off; experience in school or institutional settings preferred; duties include following safety standards, operating kitchen equipment, and delivering friendly service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school cafeteria or institutional food service setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with guidelines and portion standards.
• Assist with daily food prep including chopping, cooking, baking, and assembling meals.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, slicers, dishwashers, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving lines, storage areas and dining spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
• Stock food supplies, rotate stock, and minimize waste.
• Provide friendly, patient service to students and staff.

Job Summary

Experienced and reliable Food Service Worker with strong background is school cafeteria operations. Skilled in food preparation, serving large student populations, maintaining strict sanitation standards, and supporting a positive dining environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance nutrition guidelines and portion standards.
• Assist with daily food prep, including chopping, cooking, baking, and assembling meals.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, slicers, dishwashers, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving lines, storage areas and dining spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations (HACCP standards).
• Stocking, rotating food supplies, and minimizing waste.
• Provide friendly, patient service to students of all ages.
• Accommodate special needs and allergy restrictions as required.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and securing equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience working in a school cafeteria pr institutional food service setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 bls.
• Food Handler's permit or ServSafe® Certification (preferred if applicable).
