Job summary

Vertex Education seeks an experienced executive to serve as outsourced Chief Financial Officer for public schools and to lead the in-house accounting team. This role provides expert oversight of school business, grants, payroll, and human resources management while ensuring compliance and client retention.

The successful candidate will manage multiple clients, handle deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities with a focus on high-quality, client-centric service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• 2+ years in School Business Office or similar environment and/or 4+ years in supervisory accounting role.

Responsibilities

• Serve as outsourced CFO for public schools and lead the in-house accounting team.
• Provide engagement and team management, grant management and HR management.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise the operation of the business office to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
