Sylvania in Michigan seeks an Accountant to manage fixed asset accounting for the district and support the Supervisor for Finance with cost reporting, W-2 processing, and payroll reporting.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting with 2–5 years school finance experience (or an Associate in business with similar experience), plus advanced Excel and AS400 experience. You will prepare month-end journals and assist with budget reporting and grant compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting with 2-5 years school finance experience preferred
• Minimum of an Associates degree in business with 2-5 years of school district accounting experience required
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, pivot tables, etc) and other Microsoft applications. AS400 experience preferred

Aufgaben

• Oversee fixed asset accounting for the district.
• Assist Supervisor for Finance on completion of federal, state and local cost reports (SE-4096, SE-4094, etc).
• Prepare 1099s and assist with W2 processing.
• Assist with payroll reporting activities such as payroll taxes, 403(b)/457 upload process.
• Prepare month end journal entries for the various governmental funds.
• Assist with bank reconciliations as needed.
• Assist with budgets and reporting for assigned grants and ensure grant compliance.
• Assist with annual audits on assigned areas.
• Manage platforms like Schoolpay, Square, Eleyo, Ref Pay, etc.
• Responsible for cash receipts, accounts receivable and year-end receivable and deferred revenue reports.
• Assist with Purchase Card reporting.
• Process AS400 budget transfers and general ledger cost adjustments.
