Job summary

Osseo Area Schools is seeking a Special Projects Accountant to lead accounting for building bonds, LTFM, and all federal/state grants, while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. The role supports budget processes, year-end closes, and audits within a fast-paced educational environment.

The position emphasizes leadership, collaboration with grant managers, and ensuring district-wide financial controls and integrity. Strong Excel and GAAP knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Three years of proven success in accounting with an emphasis on budgeting and financial analysis.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership aligned with the district mission and values.
• Oversee accounting for building bonds, LTFM, and grants; assist grant managers with budgets and year-end processes.
• Prepare and reconcile general ledger entries, journals, and monthly/annual reports; support external audits.
• Monitor budgets and accounting information for completeness and accuracy; ensure UFARS/GAAP compliance.
