Job summary

Shenandoah County Public Schools is seeking a Maintenance Technician (General) to support the daily maintenance of district facilities in Woodstock, Virginia. The role requires assisting with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, doors/hardware, and playground maintenance, and ensures safe, compliant building operations.

Immediate start; full-time hours as assigned. Daily duties include painting, floor and wall repairs, equipment checks, and timely response to maintenance requests within school

Qualifications

• Holds a valid Virginia driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assists in installing, repairing, and maintaining physical building structures per blueprints and codes.
• Assists with inspecting machinery and mechanical equipment for defects.
• Performs general maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, and flooring repairs.
• Maintains a safe, clean work area and adheres to safety practices.
• Responds promptly to department head or staff communications and follows school policies.
