Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician in the Dept. of Facility Operations across multiple locations.

This is a full-time, 12-month position (8 hrs) focused on operating and servicing heating and cooling equipment and performing routine building maintenance in MCPS facilities. The job requires a High School diploma or GED, experience with industrial heating and ventilating systems, and the ability to perform general repairs.

Qualifications

• High School or GED diploma required.
• Experience operating industrial heating and ventilating systems.
• Ability to perform general building maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and service central heating and cooling equipment.
• Perform routine building maintenance tasks such as repairs to doors, locks, shelves, desks, and furniture.
• Respond to requests for building services from school staff.
• Maintain equipment records and reports.
• Work with energy management staff to control systems.
