Job summary

Meeting Street in Providence, RI is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for 40 hours per week to support a school-based facility. The role covers general maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and building systems while also maintaining vehicles, pool equipment, and security systems.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, completing work orders, and assisting with event setups. Requires 5 years in facilities maintenance, a valid license, and the ability to obtain an Accredited

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in facilities maintenance.
• Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills.
• Valid Driver's license with clean driving record and ability to provide own transportation.
• Willingness to obtain Accredited Pool Operator certification through Meeting Street.
• Maintenance experience in a school system is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry and building systems.
• Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair.
• Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (i.e., drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixtures).
• Maintain agency vehicles and make minor repairs.
• Maintain the swimming pool and equipment associated with it. Perform and record pool water testing and documents results and follow established standards and guidelines.
• Repair and construct special equipment for clients needs.
• Disarm security system at the facility each morning.
• Check and reset security and fire panel breaches when called after hours.
• Utilize the maintenance request and preventive maintenance program to track and complete assigned work orders timely and efficiently.
• Set up and break down of seating and equipment for meetings and/or conferences.
