Job summary

The City of Providence seeks a Utility Maintenance Repairperson for the Providence Water Supply Board. You will support facilities maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, acting as a lead on a crew.

Under supervision, you will perform routine tasks independently, ensure safety procedures, and be available for after-hours emergencies and snow-removal during inclement weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in building maintenance and repair.
• Working knowledge of industry safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Performs restoration, repairs, and alterations on offices and facilities using a variety of tools and equipment.
• Applies general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and wiring knowledge to troubleshoot problems.
• Operates and maintains HVAC systems and emergency generator.
• Reads plans and blueprints and follows written or verbal directions.
• Leads, instructs, and trains co-workers in building maintenance.
• Adheres to safety procedures and safety protocols.
• Provides snow-removal and emergency support as essential personnel.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
