Job summary

Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the district’s maintenance program, planning preventive maintenance, inspections, and compliance to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.

The role supervises staff, coordinates projects, and collaborates with administration while managing budgets, timelines, and quality standards; state certifications and AHERA compliance are required.

Starting immediately with a base salary of $78,795 and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s degree or equivalent experience with five+ years in maintenance/facilities roles
• Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license
• AHERA certifications required: Contractor Supervisor, Building Inspector, and Management Planner
• Within six months, able to attain Project Designer Certification
• Demonstrated supervisory/management responsibilities for at least two years
• Experience with asbestos-related compliance and building systems knowledge

Responsibilities

• Hire, assess, and supervise maintenance staff
• Plan and schedule preventive maintenance programs
• Inspect schools/buildings and determine repair needs
• Ensure OSHA/AHERA/NEC/UBC/ADEQ and local regulations compliance
• Oversee budget, labor/material estimates, and project closeout
• Coordinate with CIP and bond-funded construction
• Manage district-wide maintenance standards and contracts
• Coordinate with administration and staff for process improvements
