Job summary

San Diego Hebrew Day, a premier independent preschool and K-8 program in San Diego, seeks a dependable School Maintenance and Facilities Assistant. This full-time role maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming campus, completes daily maintenance and cleaning tasks, and assists with basic repairs and event setup.

You will supervise students during recess and lunch as needed, follow a daily checklist, report safety concerns promptly, and support teachers and staff with campus needs.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in maintenance, custodial work, or general building repairs preferred.
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to complete assigned tasks independently.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, carrying, and moving equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Flexibility to respond to changing school needs throughout the day.
