Summary

The full-time Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep and maintenance of the campus facilities at Scheck Hillel Community School. This role involves performing various maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and ensuring that the school environment remains safe, and conducive to learning.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role or related field is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, is a plus
  • Spanish is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overtime as needed
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, typically up to 50 pounds, such as equipment, tools, and supplies
  • Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the campus for extended periods, often on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and crouch to perform repairs, and maintenance tasks
  • Capability to climb ladders and scaffolding to access high areas for maintenance and repairs
  • Endurance to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday, which may include lifting, pushing, or pulling heavy items
  • Good balance and coordination to safely navigate various work environments, including stairways and ladders
  • Able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments for extended periods of time.
