Broward County Public Schools is seeking a Facilities Serviceperson to perform semi-skilled cleaning and maintenance, including floor care, restrooms, classrooms, and offices. The role involves heavy lifting, operating cleaning machines, and stocking supplies, all within Broward County’s school facilities.

Responsibilities include safe operation of equipment, adherence to safety rules, and collaboration with the facilities team. Training and certifications are provided as part of probation.

Qualifications

• Complete basic Facilities Service training and certification within probationary period.
• Ability to perform custodial work as part of daily duties.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as shampoo and scrubbing machines, vacuums and other heavy labor-saving devices.
• Able to do heavy lifting, climb ladders to replace light bulbs and filters.
• Follow written and oral instructions in English regarding cleaning and equipment operation.
• Work well with others and use basic computer skills as required.

Responsabilités

• Clean all areas assigned (cafeteria, restrooms, offices, gym, halls) per custodial standards.
• Empty trash and dispose of debris; transport to dumpster.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax floors; maintain walls and surfaces.
• Move and arrange school furniture as needed.
• Replace light bulbs, fixtures, and air filters; clean vents.
• Dust and polish furniture; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Operate floor stripping/sealing equipment in gym and stage areas; use vacuums for floor prep.
