Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to complete the Basic Facilities Service training program and obtain Basic Facilities Service certification within the probationary period.
• Ability to perform custodial work to standards.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery and heavy labor-saving devices in schools.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders to replace light bulbs/filters.
• Follow written and oral instructions in English on cleaning and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas assigned such as cafeteria, restrooms, offices, gymnasium, halls, and outside areas according to custodial standards.
• Empty trash, carry bags to dumpster and dispose of properly.
• Sweep, mop, wax floors and clean walls and surfaces.
• Replace light bulbs and clean fixtures; maintain equipment.
• Move or transport school furniture and assist with unloading supplies.
• Inform supervisor of needed supplies and maintenance issues.
• Follow safety rules and participate in training programs.
