Job summary

West Ada School District seeks a reliable Custodian to perform routine cleaning and maintenance in district school facilities. You will clean classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, operate and maintain custodial equipment, and assist with setup for events.

The role requires adherence to safety practices, ability to follow schedules, and basic math and English literacy to read instructions and complete logs. This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts in school environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; one year custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and safety procedures.
• Ability to read, write English and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors across classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, gyms, and offices.
• Vacuum carpets; strip and wax floors; shampoo carpets on schedule.
• Dust surfaces, clean restrooms, restock supplies.
• Wash walls, windows, and surfaces; clean light fixtures and replace bulbs.
• Maintain custodial equipment and inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Assist in moving furniture and setting up for events, and support groundskeeping tasks.
