Job summary

Behavioral Health Associates is seeking a full-time custodian to clean and maintain the school building and grounds, set up equipment for events, and assist staff with work requests to provide a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, at least three months of related custodial experience, and basic reading, writing, and math skills. The role includes physical duties and potential weekend/holiday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three months experience related to custodial tasks.
• Ability to read and write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Basic understanding of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Knowledge of MSDS.
• Ability to use small office equipment and computers.
• Ability to maintain property and inventory.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned areas of the building and assists with general cleanup.
• Maintains and may repair custodial equipment for grounds upkeep.
• Cares for the grounds including watering, mowing, and snow removal as needed.
• Prepares and maintains athletic fields and gym floors; assists in refinishing gym floor.
• Sets up equipment for special school events and cleans up afterwards.
• Works with public on community functions and crowd control.
• Assists cooks/staff with heavy lifting and cafeteria cleanup.
• Maintains building security and performs weekend/holiday checks as needed.
• Checks emergency lights and fire extinguishers.
• Stocks shelves and distributes supplies throughout the school.
• Assists staff with work requests and errands.
