Job summary

West Ada School District is seeking a Custodian – Night Supervisor to oversee custodial staff and perform routine cleaning and maintenance in school facilities. The role includes supervising the crew, ensuring safety, and coordinating with principals and teachers.

Responsibilities cover floors, restrooms, and classrooms; HVAC filter changes; grounds keeping; and event setup. The position requires good communication and leadership for a productive night shift in a public school environment.

Qualifications

Knowledge of cleaning and maintaining public buildings.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and safety.
Ability to supervise and train staff.
Ability to operate custodial equipment and perform minor repairs.

Responsibilities

Exercises on-site supervision, provides direction, and training to custodial staff.
Assists and participates in the documentation process.
Sweeps and mops floors, including restrooms, classrooms, hallways, offices, and related areas.
Maintains HVAC systems through regular changing of air filters and reports issues.
Maintains grounds, including sidewalks, parking lots, and planting areas, by picking up litter and trash.
Performs snow removal duties, including sanding and salting walkways.
Locks/unlocks buildings, checks panic bolts to maintain security and safety.
