Job summary

Windsor Public Schools is seeking a reliable Custodian for Windsor High School and districtwide facilities. You will perform cleaning, basic maintenance and grounds work to ensure safe, sanitary school environments.

Under supervision, you will handle routine repairs, equipment operation, and snow/ice management while supporting events and daily operations across multiple sites within the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior cleaning/maintenance experience desirable.
• CT Driver's license or ability to provide own transportation.
• Excellent reading, writing and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at start/end of shift.
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and common areas per standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, blinds and upholstery.
• Wash walls, ceilings, windows and doors.
• Clear graffiti and clean glass areas.
• Set up and break down furniture for meetings.
• Perform grounds-keeping and snow removal as needed.
• Receive deliveries and transport supplies to classrooms and other areas.
