Job summary

Northern Middle School in the Northern York County School District is seeking a full-time Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and secure facilities. The starting rate is $15.30 per hour, with an additional $0.75 per hour shift premium for second shift during the school year, and 8-hour shifts (2nd shift during the year; 1st shift in summer).

The role includes daily cleaning, records maintenance, supporting school events, inventory management, and ensuring all doors and grounds are secure.

Qualifications

• Clearances required on hire and updated every five years: Act 34 (PA State Police), Act 151 (Child Abuse), Act 114 (FBI Fingerprint).
• TB test required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Daily custodial cleaning and preservation of facilities and equipment.
• Maintain work records and prepare reports as directed.
• Support events and activities with custodial/maintenance services.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; update usage data.
• Coordinate seasonal cleaning and safety checks.
• Provide customer service to staff, students, and visitors.
• Address emergencies and on-call overtime as needed.
• Oversee security of buildings and grounds, including opening/closing.
