Job summary

Northern High School in the Northern York County School District is seeking a full-time custodial technician to maintain clean, safe and secure facilities. The role includes 8-hour shifts (2nd shift during the school year; 1st shift during summer) with overtime and on-call availability for emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or at least 3 months related experience and/or training is required.

Responsibilities

• Daily custodial cleaning and preservation of facilities, spaces, equipment and furniture.
• Maintain work records and prepare reports as directed.
• Provide custodial/maintenance services to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment for daily cleaning.
• Provide inventory usage data to Head Custodian as needed.
• Schedule and perform seasonal cleaning of facilities.
• Provide customer service to district staff, students and visitors.
• Prioritize duties to address emergencies as needed.
• Oversee buildings and grounds security and ensure doors are secure.
• Unload/load supplies and equipment as required.
• Landscaping duties including mowing and grounds maintenance.
• Snow removal duties including shoveling and salting walkways.
• Adhere to all Custodial Department requirements; proper use of machinery/equipment.
• Available to address on-call or overtime needs for emergencies or district requests.
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Buildings and Grounds, Head Custodian, or Building Administrator.
• Encourage a positive, professional work environment.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
