Job summary

Spring Lake Park Schools is seeking a dedicated Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance across district facilities. You will assist students, staff and visitors while supporting daily operations and ensuring safe, clean spaces.

The position involves physical work, weather conditions, and coordinating with school staff. A high school diploma is typical; experience in custodial work is desirable, with competitive pay and benefits offered by the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to perform duties.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• Ability to pass pre-work physical.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at the start and end of shift.
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas per district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstery, and blinds.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
• Remove graffiti and clean glass areas.
• Replace light bulbs; set up and break down chairs and equipment for meetings.
• Clear snow and spread sand/ice melting agents.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties and assist with deliveries to classrooms.
• Assist with events and program support.
