Job summary

Poplar Bluff School District is seeking a full-time custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds. Under supervision, duties include securing buildings, cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices, and assisting with setup for events.

Responsibilities also cover floor care, snow removal, grounds maintenance, deliveries, and recycling tasks. The role requires reliability, basic reading/writing skills, and the ability to operate cleaning equipment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for safety and cleanliness.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, and other areas to district standards.
• Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors; cleans walls, windows and furniture.
• Performs grounds-keeping duties and snow/ice removal as needed.
• Receives deliveries and assists in unloading and stocking supplies.
• Assists with setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events.
