Job summary

Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a Deer Trail School Engagement Specialist/Library Specialist to support Deer Trail School and Davies Library. You will develop teaching plans, provide instruction, and build relationships with educators, students and the community.

You will assist with reference, technology support, collections, and program promotion while ensuring excellent service and access to library resources for learners of all ages.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service, library or education/teaching experience.
• Experience teaching school students about library and information literacy skills.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Basic technology skills for Microsoft 365 and familiarity with Edge and Teams, and an ability to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Create teaching plans and provide library instruction that supports literacy and in-school learning units.
• Train and assist students in using library resources.
• Serve as a liaison between Deer Trail School and Arapahoe Libraries.
• Attend school meetings and collaborate with school staff and library partners.
• Support the purchase of relevant materials for Davies Library through partnerships and grants.
