Job summary

Arapahoe Libraries in Colorado is seeking a Deer Trail School Engagement Specialist/Library Specialist to support Deer Trail School and Davies Library. You will create teaching plans, deliver library instruction, and build partnerships with educators and community members to expand access to learning.

The role involves teaching information literacy, assisting patrons with technology, and helping connect students with library resources and services both in school and at the library.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service, library, or education/teaching experience.
• Experience teaching school students about library and information literacy skills.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Basic technology skills for Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Edge and Teams.
• Ability to learn new technologies and communicate ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Create teaching plans and provide library instruction that supports literacy and in-school learning.
• Train and assist students in using library resources.
• Serve as liaison between Deer Trail School and Arapahoe Libraries.
• Attend school meetings and collaborate with staff and library partners.
• Support purchase of materials for Davies Library through partnerships and grants.
• Provide welcoming service and assist patrons with accounts and reference questions.
