Job summary

Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a Deer Trail School Engagement Specialist/Library Specialist to support Deer Trail School and Davies Library. You will create teaching plans, provide library instruction, and build strong partnerships with educators and community members to expand access to library resources.

You will work closely with Deer Trail faculty and the Davies Library Team, delivering engaging information literacy sessions and assisting patrons with technology and research needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service, library or education/teaching experience.
• Experience teaching school students about library and information literacy skills.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Basic technology skills for Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Create teaching plans and provide library instruction that supports library literacy and in-school learning units.
• Train and assist students in the use of library resources.
• Serve as a liaison between Deer Trail School and Arapahoe Libraries.
• Attend school meetings and collaborate with school staff and library partners.
• Support the purchase of relevant materials for Davies Library through school partnerships and grant-funded initiatives.
