Job summary

Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a Reference Librarian to support the Davies Library in Deer Trail. The role centers on service, community connections, and collaborative programs with staff, volunteers, and local partners.

The library serves as a hub for rural communities, offering youth programming, adult services, and a welcoming space where staff mentor others and ensure reliable daily operations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in library and information science or two years of library-related experience with a plan to earn MLIS within six months of hire.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with diverse people and tasks.
• Intermediate skills with Word/Excel/Outlook, familiarity with Teams, and willingness to learn new tech.
• Ability to work independently and support teams across the library district.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead programs that engage the community and reflect local interests.
• Support evening/weekend events and school partnerships to connect with students and families.
• Build relationships with teachers, school leaders, volunteers, and community partners.
• Welcome patrons and provide friendly service at service desks and on the floor.
• Assist patrons with technology, research, and selecting materials.
• Participate in district-wide initiatives and support daily operations and services.
