Job summary

Wastateshrm in Washington State is seeking an experienced HR/Payroll Specialist to manage classified employee payroll, records, and reporting. You will input data into Skyward/Qmlativ, verify salary placements, and ensure certifications and clearances are current.

You will support recruitment, onboarding, and monthly personnel actions, while maintaining compliant records and confidentiality. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in a fast-paced district

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in a similar HR/payroll role, preferably in a school district.
• Working knowledge of Skyward/Qmlativ education management system desirable.
• Proficiency in standard office software including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Strong oral and written communication; highly organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare classified employee assignment and contract payroll information.
• Enter data into Skyward/Qmlativ system and verify employee salary placements.
• Ensure required certifications, licenses, and clearance requirements are met.
• Compile, prepare, and verify personnel data for state and federal reports.
• Coordinate recruitment and hiring processes, postings, scheduling interviews, and monthly personnel actions for approval.
• Support onboarding, separations, and leave tracking (FMLA, WPFML).
• Maintain personnel files and ensure confidentiality and compliance with laws and policies.
