Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a Custodian Day Porter for on-site cleaning at Ecoff Elementary School. The role includes general cleaning, floor care, cafeteria support, event setup, and occasional after-hours duties.

You must lift up to 75 pounds, operate cleaning equipment, and report maintenance issues daily. Typical hours are 8 per day, 260 days per year, with a compensation range of $31,789.74 to $50,818.21 annually.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and cleaning standards.
• Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment.
• Requires the ability to read, understand and follow written instructions in English; basic keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties for floors, walls, fixtures and windows.
• Assist with school lunch coverage and cafeteria cleaning.
• Move furniture, strip floors, snow removal, trash removal.
• Monitor supply levels in halls and restrooms; secure building when needed.
• Keep grounds and walkways clean; set up/tear down for events.
