Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks a Custodian Day Porter II to perform general cleaning duties in a school building, including floors, walls, and windows. You may lift up to 45 pounds, move up to 75 pounds, and operate commercial cleaning equipment.

Monday–Friday with potential after-hours work as needed. You will handle floor care, upholstery, window coverings, and deep cleaning tasks, coordinate preventative custodial maintenance, and prepare daily reports.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and cleaning standards.
• Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment.
• Ability to use standard English to read, communicate, understand and follow written instructions; write simple sentences.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties for interior fixtures, floors, walls, and windows.
• Lead small tasks such as preventative custodial maintenance and daily reports.
• Assist with lunch coverage and cafeteria cleaning.
• Move furniture, strip floors, perform snow removal and trash removal.
• Monitor restrooms and supply levels; secure building; set up/teardown for events.
