Job summary

Bellevue School District is seeking a part-time Custodian for the swing shift to support a clean and safe school environment. The role requires basic custodial tasks, light maintenance, and flexibility for events.

Starting immediately, varies by district needs; includes working under the supervision of the Building Administrator and Custodial Manager. 20 hours weekly within a 247-day assignment; eligibility for benefits as per district policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or strong evidence of reading, writing and communication skills.
• One year of public school experience preferred.
• Two years of verifiable, paid commercial building custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops and scrubs floors; cleans and maintains equipment; empties trash and recycle bins; cleans and maintains furniture and fixtures; washes windows; vacuums carpets, curtains, blinds and furniture; shampoos carpets.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms; keeps them supplied with paper towels and soap.
• Cleans assigned offices/classrooms.
• Moves furniture and equipment; arranges tables and chairs for events.
• Collects and disposes of garbage and recycle; shovels snow; sweeps and washes walks; keeps grounds clean.
• Performs minor maintenance on site equipment and/or reports issues; replaces light bulbs and tubes as needed.
• Secures building by inspecting exterior; locks doors; closes windows; turns off lights and fans; sets alarms.
• Performs other duties as required by the building administrator or custodial manager.
