Job summary

Responsibilities include routine cleaning, security checks, maintenance tasks, and assisting with safety procedures. Candidates should have a valid Maryland driver’s license and references on file.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the tasks assigned.
• The ability to communicate in verbal or written form.
• Three written and verified references on file.
• Previous training or experience preferred.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains all areas of assigned responsibility including sweeping, mopping, wet-washing, buffs, burnishing, and vacuums floors.
• Dusts furniture, cleans and polishes fixtures, washes windows, scrubs and disinfects toilet rooms.
• Lifts and carries items in excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Reports unusual conditions or malfunctioning of systems promptly.
• Inspects doors, windows, and gates for security.
• Completes preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Assists in ice and snow removal.
• Complies with local and state laws in waste disposal.
• Attends safety and custodial meetings as requested.
• Assists Head Custodian with fire safety and building security.
• Performs emergency repair or cleaning services as necessary.
• Keeps building clear of unauthorized persons and assists law enforcement.
