Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning in designated areas within K-12 or college campuses. The role offers an hourly pay of $16.37 and is an entry-friendly position with on-the-job training available.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, halls, restrooms, and offices; sweeping, mopping, and maintaining clean facilities; following safety guidelines and communicating effectively with staff and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience (preferred).
• One year of prior similar work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, mop floors and clean spills in designated areas.
• Regularly check and empty trash receptacles in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager for repairs or additions to building systems.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Sort and recycle waste into proper receptacles.
• Dust and clean desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Wipe tabletops and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets and equipment to access areas for cleaning.
• Clean interior glass, windows, partitions and mirrors.
• Sweep walks and perform seasonal tasks like leaves, snow removal.
