Bedford County Public Schools STAUNTON RIVER MIDDLE in Moneta, Virginia seeks a Custodian to clean and maintain assigned school property. The role is 12 months with pay grade 104, and requires a high school diploma or GED and some cleaning experience.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, corridors, restrooms, and school grounds, reporting major repairs, and ensuring doors and windows are secured at the end of the day. Valid driver’s license is required. EOE.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent and some cleaning experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times, including sidewalks, driveways, steps and play areas.
Checks daily to ensure exit doors are secured during school hours.
Sweeps and vacuums and dusts classrooms daily.
Cleans corridors after school and as needed during the day.
Disinfects toilet floors and cleans fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
Washes windows inside and outside at least twice a year.
Disposes of litter and debris inside and outside the school building.
Reports major repairs to the principal promptly.
Maintains regular servicing of motors and mechanical equipment.
Maintains school grounds including grass cutting, tree trimming, weeding, mulching and snow removal.
