Albemarle County Public Schools is seeking a Custodian for Mountain View Upper Elementary School in Charlottesville. The role is full-time and includes cleaning, sanitizing, floor maintenance and basic upkeep of the building.

Shift work may be required, with responsibilities across classrooms, offices and common areas. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience; valid Virginia driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and safety regulations.
• Ability to follow directions, work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum and dust classrooms, bathrooms, offices and hallways.
• Maintain cleanliness of building and premises at all times.
• Operate cleaning equipment to sanitize fixtures and surfaces.
• Relocate furniture and assist with minor maintenance as needed.
• Respond to requests from staff for setup and cleaning tasks.
