Job summary

Bedford County Public Schools STAUNTON RIVER HIGH in Moneta, Virginia seeks a Custodian to clean and maintain school facilities and grounds.

This is a full-time, 12-month position with responsibilities for opening/closing the building and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times, including sidewalks, driveways, steps and play areas.
• Checks daily to ensure exit doors are secured and working properly during school hours.
• Sweeps and/or vacuums and dusts classrooms daily.
• Cleans corridors after school and as needed during the day.
• Disinfects toilet floors daily and cleans fixtures and drinking fountains.
• Washes windows inside and outside at least twice per year.
• Maintains school grounds including grass cutting, tree trimming, weeds, mulching and snow removal.
• Opens and closes the building daily and ensures doors/windows are secured and lights off when not needed.
• Moves furniture as directed by the principal.
• Complies with trash storage and disposal procedures.
• Performs related duties as required.
