Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools EDMONDS ELEMENTARY in Forest Park, Georgia, is hiring for a Custodian II (School-Based) for a 12-month term. The role performs custodial duties to maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of the school and reports to the principal or designee.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices and common areas; operating cleaning equipment; setting up for events; ordering supplies; and assisting with emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial facility cleaning.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Work includes varied weather and on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Cleans classrooms, restrooms, offices, dining areas and floors; mops, vacuums, strips and waxes floors.
• Operates custodial equipment and maintains equipment.
• Sets up/breaks down for events and orders supplies as required.
• Assists with district emergencies and other assignments.
• Secures building and maintains custodial closet.
