Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools' North Clayton Middle in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Custodian II (School-Based) for a 12-month assignment. The role maintains cleanliness, safety, and order across classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, reporting to the school principal or designee.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, windows, and offices; operating custodial equipment; setting up for events; performing inventory, and assisting with emergency or district tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to speak, write, and read English fluently.
• Minimum of one year of experience in commercial facility cleaning preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Able to work in varied weather conditions and environments.
• On-call after normal hours and during emergencies as needed.
• Familiarity with basic computer applications (Word, Google) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans classrooms, restrooms, offices, dining areas; mops floors, vacuums, strips floors, buffs and wax floors, empties trash; cleans windows; removes trash and secures building daily.
• Operates custodial equipment (scrubber, buffers, vacuums, ladder, etc.) and maintains equipment cleanliness; sets up/breaks down for events.
• Keeps custodial inventory counts and orders supplies; maintains closet organization.
• Assists with district emergency and general assignments as needed.
• All other duties as assigned to perform the above services.
