Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• General knowledge of school heating system operation and maintenance.
• Possess physical strength sufficient to perform assigned duties.
• Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so.

Responsibilities

• Performs recurring tasks under direct supervision in accordance with established practices and cleaning schedules.
• Changes in work methods or procedures are indicated by a supervisor and work is reviewed through inspection to assure completion of assignments in accordance with instruction and standards of cleanliness.
• Performs heavier cleaning such as stripping, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and spray buffing in school buildings; moves furniture as needed.
• Cleans restrooms, fixtures; replenishes supplies; replaces light bulbs and fluorescent tubes; empties waste receptacles.
• Keeps the building clean of litter; reports damages or need for repairs to supervisor.
• Performs duties related to bus driving when required, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintaining bus discipline and schedules.
• Engages in training activities to improve performance and knowledge.
