Job Summary Details:

The School Custodian performs general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
3. No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Prior customer service experience
2. One (1) year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Clean and maintain assigned areas, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
2. Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
3. Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas.
4. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
5. Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for repairs or additions to building systems.
6. Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
7. Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
8. Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
9. Polish hard surfaces, e.g., woodwork, stainless steel surfaces.
10. Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
11. Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas manually or using hand trucks.
12. Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and tools.
13. Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other seasonal tasks.
14. Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms, cleaning and polishing as needed.
15. Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
