Job summary

School Facility Management LLC (SFM) seeks a Custodial Supervisor (Working Supervisor) in the Greater Nashville Area. This full-time, hourly, non-exempt role oversees custodial staff, ensures cleaning standards, and collaborates with school partners and SFM leadership.

You will supervise, train, and schedule staff, monitor timesheets, and adjust coverage for events and activities. A hands-on leader comfortable with floor care and safety procedures is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of custodial or janitorial experience, preferably in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience supervising, training, and directing employees.
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, equipment, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, schedule, and provide daily direction to custodial employees.
• Coordinate staffing coverage and operational needs across shifts between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend event support.
• Maintain flexibility to adjust working hours based on school activities, staffing needs, events, and facility requirements.
• Perform cleaning duties and assist the team when needed.
• Monitor employee attendance, productivity, schedules, and electronic timesheets.
• Ensure cleaning standards, safety requirements, and client expectations are consistently met.
• Conduct quality inspections and address service concerns.
• Maintain strong customer service relationships with school administrators, facility managers, clients, and SFM leadership.
• Coordinate building setups, special events, and cleaning projects.
• Oversee routine and periodic floor maintenance, including VCT, carpet cleaning, scrubbing, buffing, shampooing, waxing, and other specialty floor care.
• Complete work orders, reports, schedules, and administrative documentation.
• Assist with employee training, onboarding, and performance support.
• Provide coverage and fill in when staffing needs require.
