Job summary

Washington Elementary School District in Phoenix seeks a Crossing Guard to ensure student safety at crosswalks and school zones. You will monitor pedestrians, alert drivers, and enforce district procedures while maintaining discipline and safety across campus properties.

The role requires completion of the district's Crossing Guard Training Program and AZ IVP fingerprint clearance, with preferred experience and a high school diploma or GED. This is a part-time, 194-day calendar position.

Qualifications

• Completion of District Crossing Guard Training Program prior to performing duties.
• Obtain and maintain a valid AZ IVP FPCC clearance.
• Preferred: High School diploma or GED prior to hire.
• Preferred: One year of crossing guard experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs, monitors, and assists students and community members to cross at established crosswalks and school zones.
• Alerts motorists to the presence of students and stops traffic to cross students and community members.
• Maintains discipline by monitoring student behavior and taking appropriate action per policies.
• Places/removes signs and wears reflective clothing while performing crossing guard duties.
• Attends District and school safety trainings and participates in required meetings.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
