Job summary

Washington Elementary School District is seeking a part-time Crossing Guard to ensure the safe crossing of students at established crosswalks and school zones. The role involves directing pedestrians, signaling motorists, and maintaining discipline in accordance with district policies.

The position requires completion of a crossing guard training program and a valid Arizona fingerprint clearance. Preference given to candidates with prior crossing guard experience and a High School diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Completion of Crossing Guard Training Program prior to performing duties.
• Obtain and maintain AZ IVP FPCC fingerprint clearance card.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assists students and community members to cross at crosswalks and school zones.
• Alerts motorists and stops traffic to ensure safe crossing.
• Maintains discipline and monitors student behavior in accordance with policies.
• Places/removes signs for school zones and wears reflective crossing guard clothing.
• Attends district and school meetings and safety trainings.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.
