The Prince George's County Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for multiple part-time School Crossing Guard positions, grade X-13, within the Special Operations Division. Must be able to work both morning and afternoon shifts Monday through Friday.
Work locations are NOT assigned based on your residence; you must be able to work at any assigned location within Prince George's County.
This specialized work involves safely crossing school children and pedestrians and controlling traffic at crossings to prevent accidents and ensure safety. While employees do not have arrest authority, they perform traffic control to facilitate safe vehicle and pedestrian movement. Employees are required to wear uniforms and stand, walk, and use signals, whistles, and voice during work.
Applicants MUST be available between 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. AND 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This is a permanent part-time position with fixed hours. Reliable transportation is necessary for attending orientation, training, and work locations.
