An established industry player is seeking dedicated individuals to ensure the safety of children at school crossings. This vital role involves directing traffic, monitoring speed limits, and escorting children across streets. Directs actions of children and traffic at street intersections and school entrances to ensure safe crossings; monitors and enforces school zone speed limits.
This position is a non-supervisory classification and receives limited supervision, consulting with Field Supervisor on unusual situations.
Candidates must be able to think and react independently to various situations.
Work Hours: Three hours per school day; early morning and afternoon. Specific hours are determined when assigned to school.
On occasion, may be required to work special assignments.
Incumbent works 10 months out of the year.
The work requires some physical exertion such as walking, climbing, bending, stooping, stretching, or similar activities. The work requires standing for long periods of time.

Must be of good moral character and reputation.
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078, all employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
