Job description

Part-Time School Traffic Safety Patrol Position

This is a part-time position for 2 hours a day, Monday through Friday, with an hourly rate of $21.68 to $23.27.

The School Traffic Safety Patrol person ensures the safe and orderly flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic within a designated school zone in Rutherford County. This role is part-time and seasonal; therefore, employees do not receive fringe benefits. Working hours are determined by the school's opening and closing times. The employee reports through the chain of command to the Sheriff. This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, with no significant occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and is considered Safety Sensitive.

All necessary uniforms and equipment, including whistles, radios, and reflective gloves, will be provided by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and must be worn and used while on duty.
