Job summary

Interim HealthCare seeks a compassionate Substitute CNA Classroom Assistant to support students with medical and personal-care needs during the school day. This PRN role involves assisting with feeding, toileting, mobility, and daily activities in a classroom setting, following each student’s care plan and safety procedures.

You will work alongside teachers and nurses, maintaining dignity, safety, and privacy while adapting to coverage needs.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience assisting individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs is preferred.
• Experience with G-tube feeding is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable providing toileting, feeding, mobility, and transfer assistance.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and able to work effectively in a classroom environment.
• Must successfully complete all required background checks and health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with feedings, primarily through G-tubes and occasionally by mouth.
• Provide toileting and personal-care assistance.
• Assist with safe transfers to wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment.
• Support students with daily activities in the classroom.
• Follow each student’s established care plan and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, nurses, and other school staff.
• Maintain students’ dignity, safety, and privacy.
